Roselle

(Hibiscus Sabdariffa)

1 Live Roselle seedling 7" tall (10" in pot). Roselle is cultivated for the production of bast fiber used in cordage, made from its stem. The fiber may be used as a substitute for jute in burlap, however Roselle leaves and calyxes can be eaten. The leaves have a strong lemon citrus flavor, the calyxes have a slightly stronger flavor with an added taste of raspberry. Roselle calyxes are also the main ingredient in Lemon Zinger Tea.

Plant comes in a standard 2.5 x 3" nursery pot with a house made high-end soil blend of peat, worm castings, organic composted yard waste and perlite mixed with top grade local soil.

All plants are grown in a green house and are given water only from a carefully calibrated aquaponics system for superior strength in plant and soil microbes for maximum growth.
