Cranberry Hibiscus

(Hibiscus Acetosella)

1 Live Cranberry Hibiscus seedling " tall (12" in pot). Cranberry hibiscus is known for its slightly sour or tart young leaves which are used as a vegetable, either raw or cooked. Leaves are used in salads and stir-fries. Raw leaves are usually eaten in small quantities due to acid content and because they are mucilaginous. Flowers are used to make teas or other drinks where they contribute color rather than taste. Flowers are combined with ice, sugar, lemon, or lime juice and water to make a purple lemonade. The plant is thought to contain polyphenols, a compound that may combat inflammation and is commonly used to treat inflammatory diseases.

Plant comes in a standard 2x2x3.5inch nursery pot with a house made high-end soil blend of peat, worm castings, organic composted yard waste and perlite mixed with top grade local soil.

All plants are grown in a green house and are given water only from a carefully calibrated aquaponics system for superior strength in plant and soil microbes for maximum growth.
