1 Live Salacca Pondoh seedling 9'' tall (11'' with pot). This may be the rarest plant I sell, Salak palm are shade loving. They grow short for a palm and the Pondoh variety produce a medium size fruit with a sweet strawberry and peach flavor. Other cultivars of Salak can have completely different tastes, some are extremely tart (like a strong lemon) and others are so astringent they cannot be eaten raw. The pondoh is considered the best tasting variety (in country of origin).

Salak have a male and female so you need to have both to produce fruit, since im selling seedlings I have no way of telling if they are male or female. Commercial growers say 1 male to three females. Both male and female plants produce lots of "runners" that can be easily propagated once established.

Plant comes in a standard 2x2x3.5inch nursery pot with a house made high-end soil blend of peat, worm castings, organic composted yard waist and perlite mixed with top grade local soil.

All plants are grown in a green house and are given water only from a carefully calibrated aquaponics system for superior strength in plant and soil microbes for maximum growth.
